My husband and I recently celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary! Every year (until we had kids) we made a point to return to the place that we got engaged and married, Crane Creek Vineyards. For me, it's the most beautiful place on earth and will forever hold a dear place in my heart. When I'm there, I feel like I'm home.
This year for our big anny, my mom offered to watch the kids so we could enjoy a weekend away. Unfortunately, it rained pretty much the entire weekend. (I felt so badly, because there was a wedding there on Saturday night, but it was cold and rainy. For our wedding back in 2005, it could not have been a more perfect day. I also really felt for the wedding photographer, as a dark and cold wedding inside a pavilion is probably not what they had envisioned for these photos!)
There was one bright spot though...Sunday morning for brief moment, the sun peaked through the clouds and I was able to get a few pictures that I love.
Since I didn't get to shoot as much as I had wanted while we were there, my husband promised that as we drove home, I could choose three stops to pull over and get out to take pictures. I remembered that there was a house at the turn from US 76 up to the Vineyard, where there was a tire swing and a little red bike. It caught my eye every time we drove past, and since the weather was so bad, that little bike never moved from its spot. I was totally enamored with that scene. So, on the way home, we pulled over and my favorite shot from the trip is what resulted.
I am definitely no landscape photographer, but I love these for the memories that are held in these scenes. At my favorite place on this planet. Hope you enjoy~
