Yesterday was National Sibling Day. In honor of this social media holiday extravaganza, I gathered up a few of my favorite sibling shots I've taken over the last few months.
I feel like one of the most important things I can do as a family and children's photographer is to showcase the relationship, connection and emotion between siblings. One of the biggest dreams I have for my own children is that they grow up to be friends - to want to be around each other, to want to participate in each other's lives. Our brothers and sisters can and should be our closest friends.
As a parent, I would also assume that you, like me, absolutely adore any photo that shows our children loving on each other. The first photo here is actually my two daughters. I love this photo. My husband loves it, anyone who knows us loves it. Our kids are living messages we send into a world we'll ever see...Let's teach them love. Let's teach them the skills to restore broken relationships. Let's model forgiveness. Let's pray that after we're long gone, they'll laugh and tell stories about us and pass them onto their own kids. Let's leave a legacy of love.
