I'm so excited to share with you a gorgeous family session that I was a part of down on Amelia Island, FL during a photography conference called Clickaway.
But stay tuned til the end - I'm in a blog circle with a few amazing ladies and I'll tell you more and link to the next post at the bottom of this one.)
Our instructor snagged the cutest darn family ever, am I right?
The shots with the son & daughter (that look a bit blurry) were taken with a Lensbaby, a specialized lens that gives a dreamy, tilt-shift effect. I found it difficult as a first-timer to figure out how to focus, but did love the softness of the resulting pictures.

I know that the metro-Atlanta area isn't known for our sandy beaches, but I actually have shot several times on Lake Lanier and can't wait for summer to be here so we can enjoy more lake time. I know it's not the ocean, but if you're hoping for a fun, beachy feel to your family session pictures, let's chat. Maybe Lake Lanier would be the perfect option.
Don't these pictures have you dreaming of the beach?
What's your favorite beach to visit? (Lemme hear it in the comments below!)
Our family has always, always done Hilton Head Island. My husband and I started going there before we were even married, because his job at the time allowed us to attend a conference there every year. Even through pregnancies and babies, we've managed to go almost every single year for 15 years.
We hear great things about 30A and Gulf Shores, though. We tried to snag a place on 30A for this summer but that place apparently books out a year in advance! Maybe next year...
Alrighty, I mentioned it above so you'd be prepared - I'd love for you to circle around and see how five friends from around the world have been working on this past month. A warning: You'll see some newborn baby goodness (as if the beach wasn't bad enough to start those daydreams flowing!)
Click on over to my friend Ashley's beautiful golden hour First Birthday Session right over in Marietta. I know I promised a worldwide adventure, so keep clicking around the circle. (Bonus points for saying "hey!" in the comments to let them know you stopped by.) If you or someone you know is looking for a session over on the other side of town, I highly recommend Ashley - her work is lovely! Check it out: Children's Photographer in Marietta, GA.
Until next time, have a wonderful day~
